Great Dog Shows This Spring and Summer
ULRA has had a great spring and summer! Three shows in four months is
quite an accomplishment, and it speaks to the quality of our dogs.
In April, the Annual Labrador Retriever Specialty Show was held on the
grounds of St. Francis of Assisi Service Dogs in Roanoke Virginia.
Despite the unusually warm weather, there was a wonderful turnout
including members and
friends from New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and
West Virginia. We welcomed some newcomers to our the ULRA arena. Diane
Ammerman responded by bringing some lovely dogs, one of whom went on to win Best
in Specialty Show (BISS). Cinnamire’s Miss Sophie Brown also took BISS.
ULRA also held a show at Premier on June 11, 2009. We had a good entry,
reminded UKC that we are serious about becoming the parent club, and had
some lovely winners. We appreciate our members who made the long drive
to Michigan to represent us. Sue Schultz is certainly a trooper who has
represented our club well at a number of shows.
We would also like to
recognize the Trojaks and “Curtis” for
their wonderful win at Premier! Good dogs will be recognized wherever
ULRA goes!

Kudos also go to the Scotts, the Trojaks, and Jennifer Carroll for
putting on a wonderful show in New Jersey on July 12.
